Touring Tillman’s Haunted Halls

Written By Lanie Cauthen Arts and Culture Spooks and spectres were the subject of Winthrop’s Ghost Tours – sponsored by the Student Alumni Council.  Students toured Tillman Hall, one of the most notoriously haunted buildings on campus, and learned about some of the building’s most famous ghosts.  “I feel like I'm a firm believer that Tillman is very haunted,” Ghost tour guide Bree Jefford said. “Just being in there for a lot of time, I'm like, ‘there's some things there, but i really enjoyed it. Winthrop Fashion Club Serves Up Screams

Photos By: Kit Crosby Written By: Lanie Cauthen Photo Story  With outfits ranging from movie characters to fantasy creatures, Winthrop’s Fashion Club members modeled a haunted runway at their Halloween fashion show.  The event, a partnership with DSU, featured looks styled and modeled by the fashion club.  Attendees dressed in costumes got to walk the runway as well.  “There were a lot of moving parts to this event, so special thanks to DSU for collaborating with us on the event.” Fashion Club president Isaiah Henry said.

Written By Emma Adkins Special Report Early on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, a 26-year-old man allegedly vandalized The King Center in Atlanta, GA, which honors civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.  Officers of the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call at 4:30 a.m. of reports of unusual activity at the memorial. Once on the scene, they claim they found the suspect Brent Jones urinating in the reflection pool that surrounds both King’s and his wife Coretta Scott King’s crypts and stomping on the memorials' “Eternal Flame”.
