In recent months there has been an acceptance between Hamas and Israel to find a peace agreement, this includes an exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and an ultimate withdrawal of the Israeli military from the Gaza Strip.

Announced on September 29th of this year, the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan is the newest attempt at putting an end to the catastrophic conflict amongst Hamas and Israeli efforts. This decision was agreed upon alongside Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The executive order puts pressures on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Arab and Muslim states to release all hostages in order to secure this ceasefire deal.

This 20-point plan calls for a complete dismantling of Hamas soldiers and a release of hostages from both sides. This plan demands an establishment of an international security force, as well as a new government structure in Gaza that does not include the implementation of Hamas forces.

There are an estimated 2,000 Palestinian hostages in Israeli jails, and a total of twenty-eight deceased Israeli hostages to be returned to Israel. The remaining 400 bodies of both militant sides are to be traded on the line of the Red Sea in Gaza.

A Humanitarian Aid has been implemented, planning to deliver relief of up to 400 trucks to the Gaza Strip on the first five days of the ceasefire. This plan is to be overseen by the UN and its agencies, and hopes to assist in returning displaced Palestinians to the little remains of their homes.

Though the damage to the Gaza Strip is irreversible, this effort could bring a beginning to an end of one of the most traumatic wars of recent years. Israel and Palestine have already stated that they do not see a peaceful solution of living side by side, especially after the domino effect of the October 7th attacks.

The question becomes how does the UN, President Trump, and world efforts assist both Palestine and Israel in coming to an indifferent solution, one that doesn’t end in the deaths of more innocent lives. The current death toll of the Hamas-Israeli war is up to 70,000 people, according to news outlets worldwide.
