The Come-See-Me Festival is Rock Hill’s annual welcome to spring. This year’s festival is taking place from April 16 to April 25. It includes over 60 events for all ages to enjoy, many of which are free to attend.
The festival started as a weekend festival in 1962 to encourage the community to visit Rock Hill during the spring. It was founded by former Rock Hill mayor and state senator C. H. Albright and Illustrator Vernon Grant. Grant provided illustrations of the festival mascot, Glen the Frog; however he is most known for creating the Kellogg’s characters Snap, Krackle, and Pop. Every year a new design is chosen by the festival chair to represent the mascot.
This year, the festival started off with a parade through downtown. The festival’s events give attendees opportunities to explore all of Rock Hill, with activities taking place at Fountain Park, Glencairn Gardens, and Winthrop Lake.
The festival also gives an opportunity for spirited competition with registered events including a 5K and 10K races, competitive cornhole, disc golf and a golf classic, as well as a coloring contest and barbeque cookoff.
Come-See-Me includes events for everyone. Kids have the opportunity to participate in Musical Mania and a kazoo parade, chalk drawing, a healthy kids zone, the Mayor’s Frog Jump, family-friendly movie night, ice cream sundaes with Mother Goose and Glen, Everything Trucks, and a Teddy Bear Tea Party. Adult activities include the Beach Bash, Gourmet Gardens, Hops at the Park, entertainment at Glencairn Gardens, Broadway Night, Moonlight Jazz and Blues, and a tailgate and fireworks event to end the festival. In 2026, the festival is offering an event for senior citizens, giving them an opportunity to share coffee with the festival mascot.
